In the 50th anniversary of its legacy, the Rock Garden, an internationally known tourism destination as well as an extraordinary monument of creativity as envisioned by Padma Shri Nek Chand, will host a series of cultural and people-centered events on January 24.
The golden jubilee celebrations will begin with the ceremonial lighting of diyas and the offering of floral tributes at Nek Chand’s wax statue. Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary-cum-Chairman of the Rock Garden Society, will grace the occasion as chief guest, accompanied by the UT Chief Engineer, the Superintending Engineer-cum-Member Secretary of the Rock Garden Society, and other distinguished guests.
The day’s programme will engage the public with activities such as musical chair games and singing competitions. Key attractions will include vibrant folk dance performances—Bhangra, Ghoomar, Sirmouri Nati, and Mayur Nritya—organised at Phase-III of the Rock Garden in collaboration with the North Zone Cultural Centre.
