Week-Long Camp Encourages Young Golfing Talent
The Chandigarh Golf Club trained 30 junior golfers, including several children from economically weaker sections (EWS), during a week-long winter coaching camp held from January 2 to 8. The initiative aimed to promote golf among young players and identify emerging talent at the grassroots level.
Focus on Skill Development and Sportsmanship
The club designed the daily training sessions to strengthen technical skills while instilling discipline, golf etiquette, and sportsmanship. Coaches Saaniya Sharma, Tavleen Batra, and Mahesh Kumar conducted structured practice sessions, with Mahesh Kumar focusing specifically on skill development and ethical play.
Prize Distribution Ceremony Marks Camp Conclusion
The camp concluded with a prize distribution ceremony held on Thursday, where winners and participants received certificates and awards in recognition of their efforts and performance throughout the programme.

Chandigarh Golf Club President Ravibir Singh and Rohit Singh Dagar praised the young golfers’ dedication and enthusiasm.. They highlighted the importance of such training programmes in shaping future players and expanding the sport’s reach.
More Junior Golf Initiatives Planned
Dr GS Kochhar said the club will hold future camps to promote junior golf and increase participation.
