23 Mohali Schools Selected for National Green School Award

Mohali district’s 23 schools have earned the prestigious National Green School Award and will receive the honour at a ceremony in New Delhi on January 30.

The authorities selected the schools based on the Green School Audit, which the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) conducted in partnership with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi.

The audit assessed schools on several criteria, including environmentally responsible practices, conservation of natural resources, effective waste management, efficient use of water and energy, and adoption of eco-friendly initiatives.

Deputy District Education Officer Angrej Singh released the list of selected institutions from Mohali. The honoured schools include GSSS Kurali, GHS Joula Kalan, GHS Karala, GHS Landran, GHS Mauli Baidwan, GHS Manakpur Sharif, Gyan Jyot Global School, GHS Phatwan, GHS Desumajra, GHS Ramgarh Roorkee, GSSS Mundo Sangtian, GSSS Kharar, GHS Saneta, GSSS Khelan, GSSS Behlolpur, GSSS Boota Singh Wala, GSSS Gigemajra, GSSS Jarrout, GSSS Kurari, GSSS Machhli Kalan, GSSS Mubarakpur, GSSS Rampur Sainia, and Government Middle School, Chachu Majra.
