Chandigarh Special Olympians Win Four Medals

Athletes representing Special Olympics Bharat (SOB), Chandigarh delivered an impressive performance by winning four medals at the National Cycling Championship held in Bokaro–Dhanbad, Jharkhand. A total of seven athletes from the unit competed across senior and sub-junior categories.

Tanveer Singh emerged as a standout performer, winning the gold medal in the 2 km senior race. In the same category, Purnima Sahni and Tushar earned silver medals. Veronika Chauhan further boosted Chandigarh’s tally by claiming two silver medals in the 500 m and 1 km sub-junior events. Among the other participants, Mohit Sachdeva secured fifth place in the 4 km race and finished sixth in the 2 km event, while Prince and Kartik placed sixth in their respective categories.

Dilpreet Sekhon, president of SOB Chandigarh, along with area director Sheetal Negi Sharma, credited the athletes’ success to consistent training and their involvement in well-structured sports programmes.
